CanaryForecast publishes live beach weather for all 7 Canary Islands — a daily "which island is sunniest today" ranking, sea (water) temperature and UV from the official AEMET forecast, calima (Saharan dust) from Copernicus, and snow-line data from AEMET — refreshed several times a day. Monthly climate averages use published sources that vary by island. Journalists and bloggers are welcome to use our figures and the free widget below, with a link credit to canaryforecast.com.

Data story: the sunniest beaches and the warmest sea in the Canary Islands

Every morning since 10 June 2026 we have saved AEMET's same-day forecast for each of the 80 beaches AEMET monitors in the Canary Islands — 134 days so far. The full ranking updates daily: Canary Islands beaches ranked by sunshine and sea temperature (also in Spanish, German and 27 more languages).

Sunniest: Arinaga, El Inglés, Maspalomas, Pozo Izquierdo – El Arenal (Gran Canaria); La Ballenita (Tenerife) +1 — a clear-sky morning forecast on 113 of 131 days (86%).
Cloudiest: Charco de San Lorenzo, El Puertillo, Las Canteras, San Felipe (Gran Canaria) — 45 of 131 days (34%). Biggest north–south gap on one island: Maspalomas (Gran Canaria) 113 vs Las Canteras (Gran Canaria) 45.
Warmest sea: Charco Azul (La Palma); El Tamaduste (El Hierro); Hermigua, Nogales (La Gomera); San Juan/Castillo (Tenerife) — 24.7 °C on average. Coolest: Caleta de Fuste (Fuerteventura) — 21.9 °C.
West vs east: the sea around La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro averaged 24.3 °C, against 22.9 °C around Lanzarote and Fuerteventura (cool upwelling water off Africa).
Sea peak: 25.6 °C averaged over all beaches on 24 September 2026.
Hottest: 38 °C forecast at El Inglés, San Agustín (Gran Canaria) on 3 August 2026.
Extreme UV (11+): 43 days at El Inglés, Maspalomas, San Agustín (Gran Canaria).
October so far: Fuerteventura 74% · Lanzarote 65% · La Gomera 49% · Gran Canaria 48% · La Palma 44% · Tenerife 36% · El Hierro 25% clear mornings.

Method, in one line: these are AEMET's official same-day beach forecasts (issued early each morning), not weather-station measurements; AEMET forecasts by stretch of coast, so neighbouring beaches often tie.
